Serving
Something dear to my heart is serving others. I believe we are to exemplify Christ as much as possible. So why not in how we serve others? We have all been given different abilities worth serving others with. The Bible is filled with not only many people serving others but Christ Himself serving and being a servant.
"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 19:45 ESV
"Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you." John 13:13-15 KJV
Serving others can help us put our mindset off of self and onto others while we are going through a trial. It can also help us get through said trial. Christ is our example, someone whom we are to mimic, to be like in every possible way. The joy we receive that comes from serving others is so great the feeling can't be compared.
What about stepping out of our comfort zone to serve in some capacity we never thought we would. Me, I had a desire for the ladies of my church. My heart wanted to do something to be a help. Not until we moved back to MI and returned to GR Church that God allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and start a Ladies Ministry.

I am not perfect, I am definitely not one to look up to by any means but my heart yearns to be a help to others. I use to be super shy when it came to speaking to others that I didn't know well, especially when it came to public speaking. I'm not the greatest public speaker or any type of speaker for that matter, but I have gotten up in front of many women and have shared my heart, all because of the grace of God. I speak fast, my words get all messed up, my brain moves faster than my mouth, not everything comes out that I'm thinking and I always forget what I'm going to say next but I try.
"Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;" Romans 12:11 KJV
*So I challenge you, step out of your comfort zone and serve someone else or serve in a ministry that Christ would have you to today.
