Give Yourself Grace
It's been one of those days. We all have them. We wish we could start them over. Change what we said, how we've acted and what we did but we are unable. We feel it at the beginning of the day and then it seems to be down hill from there. At this point as Christians we remember Christ's grace and forgiveness then pray that those we've come in contact with can and will extend the same grace and forgiveness.
"And of His fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." John 1:16–17 KJV
We are human, we are flawed, we are sinners. If we can show the goodness of God to one another, our days would be filled with hope, joy and love. I am the type of person who is so hard on myself it's unbelievable. I walk away from conversations and replay them over and over in my head and pray that what I said wasn't taken the wrong way but if it was, that it would be forgiven and grace will be given. If you know me well, you know that I try my hardest not to offend or hurt anyone's feelings (I have a habit of constantly asking certain people if what I said was ok) but I try to remember that sometimes it's just going to happen whether I meant it to or not. Life is hard especially the Christian life. We have so many things, and sometimes people, against us wanting us to fail. Cling to Christ and show grace.
"Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord." Acts 11:23 KJV
One thing we need to remember is to show ourselves grace. Remember how imperfect we all are. Embrace those imperfections and turn them around into something better. Imperfection is ok as long as we learn from our failures and grow from them. One thing I always say, if we were perfect, then there would be no God. Choose to forgive yourself and those around you today. Choose to give yourself grace and move on to the next thing. God has something great for each of us but it's up to us to accept it and move forward. Take that step and ask God to use you because He will. Trust me!
“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11 KJV
*Christ continually gives us grace over and over again, therefore we should extend that same grace to others as well as ourselves.
